Money plays a huge role in society in a variety of ways, such as in business, at people's jobs, and even in education. A currency in the most specific sense is money in any form when in use or circulation as a medium of exchange, especially circulating banknotes and coins. A currency is a system of money (monetary units) in common use, especially for people in a nation. In the theme- World Around Us, students of Grade 4 learned about different currencies wherein they noticed different varieties of visuals on banknotes of various countries. For example, there are images of people, plants, birds, animals, monuments, or events on banknotes.

CANCER DAY: STUDENTS CREATE AWARENESS THROUGH THEIR SLOGANS

World Cancer Day is an international day marked on 4th February to raise awareness of cancer and encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008. The primary goal of World Cancer Day is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer. Students of Presidium created awareness through their slogans to motivate the cancer patients. They urged one and all to come forward and join hands in helping the people suffering from cancer.

REPUBLIC DAY: PRESIDIANS SHOW THEIR LOVE FOR THE COUNTRY

On the auspicious occasion of 72nd Republic Day, Presidium organized a special virtual assembly. The assembly started with welcoming the dignitaries, the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the School Choir, which was sung in unison. The main attraction was the Inter-State Dance Competition, where every class participated with vigor and zeal. The entire program was infused with the spirit of Nationalism and Patriotism. National Girl Child Day was celebrated at Presidium, wherein the students gave a variety of messages to promote awareness on the importance of educating girls. The objective behind celebrating the National Girl Child Day is to provide support and opportunities to the girls of India. It also aims to promote awareness about the rights of the girl child and increase awareness of the importance of girl education and their health and nutrition. Our young Presidians joined hands to motivate everyone through slogans, speeches, and posters.

STUDENTS STUDY ABOUT THE DIFFERENT MODES OF TRANSPORTATION

"You can't understand a city without using its public transportation system."

Under the theme, 'Vacation,' students learned that means of transport is a term used to distinguish between different ways of transportation or transporting people or goods. The different modes of transport are air, water, and land transport, including Rails or railways, road, and off-road transport. The students were told about transportation and its importance. Many activities were taken up to enhance students' language development and their general knowledge. Students were guided about vehicles' names and lots of transportation vocabulary, which enhanced their learning process. They were excited about learning about the concept. It aims to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease. Immunization saves millions of lives every year and is widely recognized as one of the world's most successful and cost-effective health interventions. The vaccination is essential to ensure that the nation maintains overall immunity levels against the poliovirus. Students of Presidium initiated and motivated everyone about the vaccination through their slogans and posters.

ARMY DAY: STUDENTS PAY TRIBUTE TO THE VALIANT SOLDIERS

Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi and all headquarters. On 15 January 2021, India celebrated its 73rd Indian Army Day in New Delhi. Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens. To pay tribute to the selfless soldiers, on the occasion of Indian Army Day, Presidium students shared their thoughts and recited poems related to the same. Students were enrolled to stay united and stand together for the safety of mankind.

National Road Safety Week is organized every January by the National Safety Council (NSC) of India. NSC is an autonomous body set up by the Indian government to engage the public on safety, health, and environmental issues. Road safety is a major concern for authorities in India. Indian Ministry of Road Transport & Highways encourages the regional government to take the lead on Road Safety Week by initiating and providing a list of suggested activities to promote road safety. Students of Presidium were also given a brief about this year's theme 'Safe yourself to save your family,' which urges all to apply all the safety measures while being on the road on a vehicle and following the traffic rules, always.
