Woodblock printing on textiles is the process of printing patterns on textiles, usually of linen, cotton, or silk, by means of incised wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest, and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Block printing by hand is a slow process. However, it is capable of yielding highly artistic results, some of which are unobtainable by any other method. Grade 3 students of Presidium participated wholeheartedly in an activity wherein they did beautiful block printing on a piece of cloth using fabric colors and blocks of different designs

PRESIDIANS MARK NATIONAL FARMERS’ DAY WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM

India is predominantly an agricultural country, and agriculture is the main source of income as a backbone for India's economic development. Farmers' Day is celebrated every year on 23 December, on the birthday of the 5th Prime Minister of India, Choudhary Charan Singh, also a farmer's leader, who introduced many policies to improve the lives of the Indian farmers. To pay him tribute, the government in 2001 decided to celebrate his birth anniversary as National Farmers' Day. This Day is celebrated to promote awareness among the country's citizens to understand the importance of the contribution by the farmers in society for the country's overall economic and social development. Presidians celebrated this Day with great enthusiasm to praise the farmers as they are the spine of India. Students showcased this through their posters and slogans.

Every year, the country celebrates National Mathematics Day on December 22 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. On this day, students of Presidium performed various activities and learned the techniques to apply the knowledge of the subject in a variety of contexts.This made the National Mathematics Day celebration a fruitful experience for the students.

PRESIDIANS ENJOY MAKING AN ANALOGUE CLOCK

Clocks are instruments that measure and show the time. An Analogue Clock is a clock or watch with moving hands and hours marked from 1 to 12 to depict time. Our Grade 2 young Presidians had explored their understanding while creating the Analogue Clock on their own. The activity helped them in revisiting all important points related to an Analogue Clock, i.e., its three hands, the Hour hand, the Minute hand, and the Second hand, the difference between the size of hands and the arrangement of numbers 1-12. Students enjoyed a lot making these clocks.

Vijay Diwas is the day dedicated to the Martyrs who sacrificed their life on 16th December 1971 in Indo Pakistan War. On this day in 1971, the Pakistani forces surrendered to the allied forces consists of the Indian army. On this day, people pay tribute to the brave soldiers. To mark the honour and sacrifice of the martyrs and many others who fought the war for our nation, several events are held across the country every year. Presidians celebrated the day with a sense of pride and patriotism. They wholeheartedly participated and paid respect by giving speeches and dance performance dedicated to the Martyrs of the war.

PRESIDIANS JOIN HANDS TO REAFFIRM THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Human Rights Day is annually observed on 10th December. The United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a milestone document that proclaims the rights that every human being is entitled to regardless of race, color, religion, sex, or language. This year's Human Rights Day theme, "Recover Better - Stand Up for Human Rights," relates and focuses on the COVID-19 pandemic and how to build back ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts by addressing the failures exposed and exploited by COVID-19. Presidians joined hands to reaffirm the importance of human rights in re-building the desired world. They showcased global solidarity through posters, slogans, and speeches.

PRESIDIANS SALUTE OUR SOLDIERS FOR THEIR HEROIC SERVICE

The Indian Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year on December 7 since 1949. It is a day to honour the soldiers, airmen, and sailors of India who fought on the borders to safeguard the country. On Flag Day, all three branches of the Indian armed forces, the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, and the Indian Navy, arrange a variety of shows, carnivals, dramas, and other entertainment programs to showcase to the general public the efforts of their personnel to ensure national security. Flag Day has gained more significance as it strengthens the responsibility of India's civilian population to take care of the families and dependents of the armed forces personnel who fight for the country. Presidians showcased their gratitude through posters to sensitize India's citizens to work for the welfare of our brave soldiers and their families.

NAVY DAY: PRESIDIANS HONOUR THE SACRIFICES OF OUR SEA WARRIORS

Navy Day in India is celebrated on 4 December every year to recognize the achievements and role of the Indian Navy to the country. During Navy Week, various events occur, such as an open sea swimming competition, performances by the Naval Symphonic Orchestra, an Indian Navy Inter School Quiz Competition, a Navy Half Marathon, and an air display for school children. To keep the zeal going, students of Presidium participated wholeheartedly to remember and honor the sacrifices of our heroes and showcased this through their posters and slogans.
