STUDENTS CELEBRATE EID-E-MILAD WITH FERVOUR!

Eid-e-Milad is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad. People on the day of Eid-e-Milad start their day with a morning prayer followed by a procession and large gathering in mosques. Children are narrated stories of Muhammad, about his life and preachings as mentioned in the Holy Quran. The day ends with donations towards the needy and poor people. Friends and family are also invited to be a part of the festivities. At Presidium Eid Milad was celebrated with great fervor and excitement. Students explained the meaning, purpose, and the subsequent celebration of the day through posters, speech, and play.

STUDENTS MARK THE AUSPICIOUS OCCASION OF DUSSEHRA VIRTUALLY

The festival Dussehra makes a massive contribution as it is the culmination of the nine-day Navratri festival and with the tenth day of the Durga puja festival. Dussehra is also known as Vijayadashami as it is also a celebration of female divinity as it marks the killing of the demon Mahishasura by goddess Durga. Dussehra was celebrated virtually at Presidium keeping the festive spirit alive. The festivals mark Lord Rama's victory over Ravana and reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil. The Programme began with a soulful invocation song followed by speeches. Dance and theatrical performances by students glorified the celebrations. The primary objective of the entire show was to convince the students that no matter how intelligent a person is, his pride will be the reason for his collapse.

PRESIDIANS ENTHRALL ALL WITH THEIR DAZZLING PERFORMANCES

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”
Dancing is a great form of exercise, and a love of dance from an early age can help motivate kids to stay active as they grow into adults. It increases the students’ flexibility, range of motion, physical strength, and stamina. Presidians of grade prep showcased their talent for dancing through an Intraclass Dance competition. They danced on various folk songs, patriotic songs wearing beautiful costumes, and using different props which encouraged their creativity and imagination as well as helped them learn about expressing themselves in a way that’s beneficial to their physical and mental health.

International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations. It is also called the Day of Girls. The theme, this year, is “Digital generation. Our generation.” Like every year, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) will celebrate International Day of the Girl Child 2021 reaffirming its pledge to promote the progress of girls and safeguard their rights. It supports and provides more opportunities for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide based upon their gender. Our proud Presidians enlightened gender equality through various quotes and pictures.

Indian Air force day is celebrated every year on 8th October to raise awareness about the familiarity with Indian aviation-based armed forces in any association of national security both authoritatively and freely. Students of Presidium School paid their special tribute to the Indian Air force's brave hearts, who lost their lives during various Indian Air Force operations. They shared quotes and slogans related to it and recited heart-touching poems that moved and inspired each of us.

PRESIDIANS STUDY ABOUT THE VARIOUS ROCKS & MINERALS IN THE EARTH

Rocks and minerals are all around. Our use of rocks and minerals includes building materials, cosmetics, cars, roads, and appliances. In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle and strengthen the body, humans need to consume minerals daily, grade 7 students of Presidium while covering the Geography chapter, Inside Our Earth were acquainted with the various types of Rocks and Minerals. An Art Integrated Activity - Collage of Monuments made of Rocks was designed for them. The symbiotic relationship between art and social studies suggests a compatible pairing in an integrated curriculum. Social studies present knowledge of human experiences, while art has the power to provide an intimate understanding of human experiences through personal encounters that yield insights. Students researched and collected five pictures of historical monuments made up of Rocks.

IT’S A GOLD FOR SAHIB SINGH!

Gold it is! Sahib Singh of Presidium topped the final standings in the U14 open category of the Western Asia Youth Chess Championship that was hosted online by the Sri Lanka Chess Federation from 18th to 20th of September, 2021. Sahib won 7 games, drew one, and lost one to score 7.5 points out of 9 to clinch the Gold medal for India amongst players from 17 countries. This is Sahib’s first individual gold in an international tournament. It's noteworthy that Sahib had won 2 Silvers (Rapid and Classical) for his country in the last edition of Western Asia Youth held in New Delhi in 2019.

Life is better in a world where peace exists. Students of Presidium discussed the ways to attain peace within so to spread the wings of peace in the outside world. So, let’s seek peace within and take a step by believing that peace begins with a smile and bringing a smile on everyone's face.

The International Day of Democracy provides an opportunity to review the state of democracy in the world. Democracy is as much a process as a goal, and only with the full participation of and support by the international community, national governing bodies, civil society, and individuals can the ideal of democracy be made into a reality to be enjoyed by everyone everywhere. The values of freedom, respect for human rights, and the principle of holding periodic and genuine elections by universal suffrage are essential elements of democracy. In turn, democracy provides the natural environment for the protection and effective realization of human rights. Presidium celebrated International Day of Democracy by spreading awareness amongst students about the importance of education. Students made posters and slogans to celebrate the day with avidity. -
