ARMY DAY: STUDENTS PAY TRIBUTE TO THE VALIANT SOLDIERS

Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi and all headquarters. On 15 January 2021, India celebrated its 73rd Indian Army Day in New Delhi. Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens. To pay tribute to the selfless soldiers, on the occasion of Indian Army Day, Presidium students shared their thoughts and recited poems related to the same. Students were enrolled to stay united and stand together for the safety of mankind.

PRESIDIANS OBSERVE THE NATIONAL ROAD SAFETY WEEK!

National Road Safety Week is organized every January by the National Safety Council (NSC) of India. NSC is an autonomous body set up by the Indian government to engage the public on safety, health, and environmental issues. Road safety is a major concern for authorities in India. Indian Ministry of Road Transport & Highways encourages the regional government to take the lead on Road Safety Week by initiating and providing a list of suggested activities to promote road safety. Students of Presidium were also given a brief about this year's theme 'Safe yourself to save your family,' which urges all to apply all the safety measures while being on the road on a vehicle and following the traffic rules, always.

Makar Sankranti is one of the important festivals of the Hindu religion that is celebrated with great joy and happiness. Makar Sankranti is known as Pongal in South India and as Maghi in North India. Makar Sankranti is all about prayers, sweets, and kites. The festival of Makar Sankranti is celebrated with great enthusiasm in all parts of India every year. Presidium students took part in making posters, drawings, and dressing up in their best ethnic attire enthusiastically.

Lohri, the festival which ushers in the joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter, was celebrated virtually at Presidium School with exuberance and fanfare. Lohri festival offers a panorama of our culture. The special assembly was buzzing with speeches, songs, and bhangra dances. The Presidians left no stone unturned to celebrate the festival wholeheartedly. The students also made posters and drawings to express their feelings, joys, and thoughts.

A new year is a time for inspirational dreams but, more importantly, a time to set your goals to see the dreams turn into a reality. Students of Presidium marked the new year celebrations with reflections about the previous year and anticipation about the new year with ardour and exuberance. Students also expressed their creativity by making New year Posters and drawings. Slogans, quotes, dance performances, and speeches marked the day.

Woodblock printing on textiles is the process of printing patterns on textiles, usually of linen, cotton, or silk, by means of incised wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest, and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Block printing by hand is a slow process. However, it is capable of yielding highly artistic results, some of which are unobtainable by any other method. Grade 3 students of Presidium participated wholeheartedly in an activity wherein they did beautiful block printing on a piece of cloth using fabric colors and blocks of different designs

India is predominantly an agricultural country, and agriculture is the main source of income as a backbone for India's economic development. Farmers' Day is celebrated every year on 23 December, on the birthday of the 5th Prime Minister of India, Choudhary Charan Singh, also a farmer's leader, who introduced many policies to improve the lives of the Indian farmers. To pay him tribute, the government in 2001 decided to celebrate his birth anniversary as National Farmers' Day. This Day is celebrated to promote awareness among the country's citizens to understand the importance of the contribution by the farmers in society for the country's overall economic and social development. Presidians celebrated this Day with great enthusiasm to praise the farmers as they are the spine of India. Students showcased this through their posters and slogans.
